It's half way through Milan Men's Fashion Week and the trends have definitely arisen - monochromatic and metallic. Day 3 featured shows from Canali, Gucci (invited to live stream), Emporio Armani (invited to live stream), Iceberg, Umit Benan, Missoni, and a presentation from Alexander McQueen.
My favourite shows from the day were John Richmond and Z Zegna, and my favourite presentation from the day was Fendi.
John Richmond SS13
John Richmond has combined complex prints with simplistic yet detailed design for this coming Spring/Summer season. The definitive pieces for me are the mesh jackets and the crucifix print blazers, presenting more statement pieces to add to one's wardrobe.

Fendi SS13
Dynamic prints, reflective sunglasses and woven leather encapsulates Fendi's upcoming menswear collection. All these elements are accentuated with the array of textural fabrics in the garment, from suede to nylon to vinyl leather, it's all about creating an impact without relying on vibrancy or theatrical notes.

Z Zegna SS13
My invitation to the show's live stream |
Z Zegna's Spring/Summer 2013 collection is a far cry from Ermenegildo Zegna, with the collection featuring kimono shirts, stiff silhouettes, muted colours and laser cut detailed bags and shirts. To be honest, Z Zegna is mroe my style than the upper class Ermenegildo Zegna. The collection is an embodiment of the future of men's fashion, with heavy reliance of cultural costume and minute tailoring to finish the garments off. The light art within the set enhanced the muted colours, creating a silent spectacle for the eye.
