The Terrible Congrat   +  Tailoring

Dolce & Gabbana, Hello?!

London Collections: Men has kicked off with a presentation of men's suiting for Spring/Summer 2014 from the coveted luxury label, Dolce & Gabbana. In broad daylight, D&G's male muses strutted along the streets of London, showing off the high sartorial creations of Domenico and Stefano, bringing the luxe of Italian tailoring to an audience that usually attains access later in the year. The ordered line of Clark Kent look-a-likes certainly gathered a lot of attention, it's not often you see well-dressed men in the age where price is favoured over quality.

The collection is seamlessly rigid and exudes a modern approach to uniformity, with check, plaid and panelled monochromatic patterned suits popping out amongst the more reserved ensembles. Despite the withheld aesthetic, the variances in charcoal and sharp blacks make the range of suiting diverse in terms of colour choice, and as mentioned before, pattern. What tops off all the looks are the spectacles, which bring the collection a retrospective feel, reminiscent of the time when "men were men and women were women".
