The Terrible Congrat   +  Tommy Hilfiger

Day 2 - New York Fashion Week
The best collections from the day for me were Tommy Hilfiger, Rag & Bone and Helmut Lang, which is one of my favourite designers and labels.

The abundance of textural leather and pleather is ridiculous in the coming season for menswear, in a good way. Tommy has ingeniously muted greens, reds and yellows in his leather pieces this season, enhancing the modernity of the collection without dispersing the classic and timeless gentleman look.

Rag & Bone have certainly grasped onto the mixed prints and textural fabrics trend for Autumn/Winter, and have produced, in my opinion, the best patterns along with smart material selection for the coming season. The patterns ranged from earthen to floral to digital gradients, which I adore. Classic tailoring on the outerwear emphasizes the patterns uniqueness, for example the gradient coat and the swatch coat.

Helmut Lang FW12

Helmut Lang's new head designers have shown great ability to bring Helmut's vision into the future, and this collection is a perfect example of the progression of the once purely monochromatic colour palette to one that incorporates dusty red and rocky grey tones. The patterns are dark and astounding, resembling smoke, desert landscapes and cross sections of minerals, adding a dynamic to the Helmut Land brand.
