The Terrible Congrat   +  Riccardo Tisci

GIVENCHY

To start out this post with a statement: I'm a Givenchy fanatic. Everything Riccardo Tisci creates at the great french maison, is made in precision and with an outstanding aesthetic. My fascination grew slowly, as the same time with his progess. His previous womenswear collections were the ones, that my curiosity searched the more for, but he has proved to be as good in the men's section. My taste seeks more to his fall winter collections, with the use of black leather, and especially that tuxedo jacket as showed above. The summer collections are truly inspiring too, with all-white looks and hints of tribalism. The prints of SS/12 (last two pictures) are almost ironic. I would say that Riccardo's choice of male models, is the opposite of the boys, that walked in the Dior Homme shows, at Hedi Slimane's time as creative designer. Men in skirts, are definitely men, who are 100% confident with their sexuality.
